Professor Tony Burroughs, internationally known genealogist and author of Black Roots; A beginners Guide to Tracing the African American Family Tree.

Burroughs will guide students and parents through the process of researching their own family’s experiences, enabling them to make greater and more diverse contributions to the design composition. Terry Glover, managing Editor of Ebony Magazine has developed a web application/database to allow Fenger alum to register to volunteer, network and become an ongoing source of support for the school. Cheryl Graves, Community Justice for Youth Institute, will facilitate peacemaking circles for students, parents, alumni and community volunteers/supporters. Peacemaking circles are used in educational settings to provide mentoring, address discipline issues, promote safety and foster a sense of community among participants. Grant Banks, Professional Videographer, will document this entire project in an effort to capture this community’s triumph from tragedy.
