- 48 sq ft Broken Tile Mosaic- Interior Installation

In sixth grade all Chicago Public School students study the history of Ancient Egypt. During a six-week residency under the auspices of Art Resources in Teaching, Carolyn Elaine assisted the sixth grade class at Murphy Elementary School in conveying their knowledge into a mosaic artwork installed above the schools water fountain.

Through drawing workshops students created imagery depicting this phenomenal era from their own perspective. The conveyance of these original oil pastel images into broken tile resulted in the creation of a 48sq ft mural which reads (in hieroglyphics): John B Murphy School Class of 2001.
